With the launch of our Show Home and Marketing Suite at our highly anticipated Copper Hills, Hayle development just around the corner, we have been ‘out and about’ in beautiful Hayle, discovering everything it has to offer our future residents of Copper Hills.

Hayle town itself is divided into two areas, Copperhouse and Foundry, both names reflecting Hayle’s industrial heritage, a subject that inspired our very own naming of Copper Hills.  You will find an array of independent shops along the town’s attractive Market Street, which leads in to Fore Street, as well as a great choice of places to eat, drink and get those all-important Cornish pasties. Once a key port in the trade of copper and tin, the area has World Heritage status and is steeped in history.  Still to this day, materials formed from the smelting of copper called ‘Scoria Blocks’ can be seen in many of the town’s older residences.

For many people, if you say ‘West Cornwall’, the first thing that comes to mind is the area’s spectacular beaches – and you really are spoilt for choice. From the iconic and windswept sandy beaches of Porthkidney and Gwithian to the sheltered cove of neighbouring Carbis Bay, Hayle offers a superb array of seaside havens, including dog and family friendly options. These beaches offer wide golden sands, perfect for surfers and day-trippers or pebbly paradises, for those blissful toe dipping evening strolls.

Close by is the peaceful and striking Hayle estuary the most south westerly estuary in the UK, is home to a wide variety of wetland birds.  With glorious views, it is the perfect spot for a summer’s day stroll with a Cornish ice-cream in hand.

If walking or hiking is on your list of must do leisure pursuits, then taking time out to enjoy the miles of South West Coast Paths is a must! Offering breath-taking views, versatile landscapes and even bird spotting if that takes your fancy. Pathways include the popular Hayle to St Ives route; leading through estuary, woodland and finally delivering you to the golden sands of Porthminster Beach.

The South West is home to some delightful National Trust locations and just 14 minutes from Copper Hills is the spectacular Godrevy, offering cliff walks, surfers’ beaches, dramatic coves and headland trails – you can also try your hand at the popular geocaching, a great treasure hunt activity to keep the family entertained.

Copper Hills is located just off the A30, offering access to road and rail connections, for those days when commuting is required, although once you’re settled here, you will probably never want to leave! If you are travelling by air, Newquay International Airport is less than an hour away by car and offers domestic and international flights.

We hope that this has given you a flavour of the beautiful location that is Hayle. However, you really do need to discover it for yourself.
